The theme of the square I got for the first was "Vanitas"
I didn't understand what a Vanita was, so I looked it up on google. I found that a vanita was a still-life painting of a 17th-century Dutch genre containing symbols of death or change as a reminder of their inevitability. I looked over some images and decided to print the picture I chose on photography paper. I incorporated many aspects of the painting into my square by cutting them out. I still thought the image looked a little dead, so I added green to liven things up.

Tharp by scratching is how she generates Ideas. Ideas should turn you on an idea isn't an idea unless its combined with little ones. Finding ideas in mentors and heroes, music, peoples handiwork are all ways to be inspired. Of course there are a ton more! You have to scratch. Put in time and be in shape. You have to be prepared and dig into your craft! Scratch in the best places never look in the same lace twice. It is important to trust the unconscious and don't question. Accepting luck as a skill is important. Somethings just happen so we v can't always rely on our artistic abilities. It is important not to rely on other people too much because you may get let down. Push independence! Don't believe that everything has to be perfect. The ticking clock is our friend it gets us started and provides a sense of urgency and passion. Limited resources are enough to get us started. Creating the right structure and setting ground rules that apply to our lives and specific piece is important. We have to know the difference between obligations and commitment. I can't overload things because I may set myself up to fail. I need to have an idea and go with the flow. Having the right materials not the most perfect materials is key! If i am too too greedy my work may not come out the best. I have to "settle" for somethings sometimes. Consider! Consider! Consider. Consider my work and practice everything I have learned in this writing and I will be just fine!

I am a flexible artist seeking to find new materials, inspirations and experiences that take my art work to the next level. I have a base and an idea as to where i would lie to start, but I do not have limitations as to where my final project will take me. I'm reaching for beyond the stars. My hunger for success is infinite. In the next few weeks I'm hoping to collect the necessary information and material need for the project I'd like to do. I am also hoping to learn some new techniques, so I can be top notch in my craft.
I love making art in general. I don't have a particular preference in whether my crafts are 2D OR 3D. If I make something in 2D and i feel it would be interesting to have a 3D component then I do everything in my power to transform it, or vice versa.
I hope to learn how to shade better in painting, photography techniques and anything I honestly can. I cherish education in all forms, and new things call for progression!
A theme I had that will fuel my investigation is importance of family, traits, dreams and ultimately the past. It may seem odd, but my inspiration comes from everything. Life is an inspiration for me. I do not have a specific source of inspiration.
I can be extremely hard on myself and shut down. Please keep my spirits up! push me to be the best possible me! I really want to make the best piece ever. This piece will be made in honor of my grandfather. Make me manage my time! Be hard on me! I need it! much love and respect!
